We Were Thinking of Evolving (Wake Up): The music and videos of K Sera

Alternative, Music Posted by Clarke 4 Comments

Just today I happily discovered the music of the band K Sera. Following some of the bands links, I was brought to a couple of music videos that really caught my eye. The videos are fresh and fun, full of life, full of energy. The music is classified as alternative, but what really is alternative these days—since the early eighties anyways? But we can give K Sera the alternative banner to wave, cause their music could simply not be classified any other way. K Sera’s music is a quirky explosion of multiple genres. On another website I saw that their music got stuffed into three simple categories. But that just cheapened it for me. The music of K Sera is too good to just be passed off as Indie, Rock and Experimental.

With style pretty much his own, Lead Singer Mike Caswell belts out much of the lyrics. But you can catch glimpses of undertones, of a terrific voice just begging to sing a quiet, more gentle solo. The other members of the band have just as much energy and play their instruments with force. That’s why I call K Sera an explosion of sound. Each band member’s musical influence seems to jump in at anytime. Drummer Dustin Combs is wild!

The standout for me besides the lead singer, is Keyboardist David Christensen. His fingers leap from note to note with runs of semi-tones that hint of songs yet to come. He’s a musician’s musician. He’s not hard to look at either. They’re all super cute, and so are all of their friends. Well, at least the ones in the videos anyway. Yes, super cute and super talented, making super great music! Their music is so strong, their sound so scrumptious, that anyone will enjoy sinking their teeth into these tunes.

Here’s a video to get yourself acquainted… I really like this song and video, plus the cool charm of Thomas Dutton singing his cameo with such intensity. I’m looking forward to hearing more music and seeing more cool videos from K Sera.

Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

Men can now take sexy to a whole new level

Fashion & Style, Men's Clothing Posted by Joshua 36 Comments
Shock Jock Scrolling Picture

Ok I have to admit it… I have a men’s underwear, swimwear, sportswear and jeans fetish. Or maybe that would be classified as more than one fetish. Even though the examples in a definition of fetish are more severe that what this means to me, I’ll refer to how the Urban Dictionary defines a fetish:

1. An object thought to have magical, especially magically sexual, powers

2. A sexual fixation or obsession with a usually non-sexual object. EX. socks, horses, monkeys, pain, bondage

I guess that could sum it up. It sounds a bit harsh though, and I mean this in purely the complete fun, outgoing, get yourself suited up for a good time, kind of fetish. Wait a minute, that could be misconstrued as well. But I do think some of my underwear has magical powers. All you have to do is look at some of those hot guys in some of the current underwear, swimwear and other clothing pics that are out there these days, and I’m sure you’ll agree with me that there is magic being created!
;-)

So, here’s the deal. I like certain types of clothing because they make me feel really good, really sexy and really comfortable whenever I wear them. This can be my favourite underwear, my favourite shorts, a cool t-shirt, my best fitting, make me feel gorgeous, jeans or pants, and more. You get the picture though, right?

This isn’t anything new I’m saying here. People have been going crazy for clothing and other objects for centuries. It used to be that the King and/or Queen of a country set the fashion trends of the nation. If the King wore his vest with the last button undone, well everyone followed suit (no pun intended), ’cause if the King was doing it, it had to be cool.

In those days the people wouldn’t have known what kind of underwear the King was wearing in order to copy him, or to share in his royal-underwear-ness. And jeans weren’t really invented or as widely worn as the staple of every man’s closet that they are now.

In today’s world of Social Media tell-alls, we hear more often than not, what kind of clothing, including underwear, our favourite celebs are wearing. For instance David Beckham is all tight white briefs, Ashton Kutcher is tight little black sport briefs, Rob Pattison is definitely into red geek briefs. I’m not knocking Rob here. I personally like the look and who cares if it is a real picture or not. He looks sensitively sexy.

sexy underwear for guys

It fits my fantasy just fine. Taylor Lautner can’t seem to keep his clothes on, but when he does he looks super-hot too. I’m imagining him in his Papi or Andrew Christian jockstrap!

And Prince William (the future King of England)… well, if anyone knows what kind of underwear Prince William prefers or anything he has a fetish for, please tell me in the comments here. I’d love to hear about it and get into some of those “princely” duds myself. I’m guessing Prince Willie is Mr. Boxer Briefs.

In the meantime, checkout universalgear.com and andrewchristian.com as they are two of my fav online stores for picking up hip, sexy men’s clothing.

This is Joshua signing out. Chat with you next time. ;-)

Imogen Heap: Queen of the New Underground

Alternative, Chillout, Electronica, Music, Pop Posted by Clarke 109 Comments

Ellipse by Imogen Heap, Released 2009These days most people know the name Imogen Heap. But if you don’t recognize her name, you’ll certainly recognize her music from the first few bars. Ethereal, unique, inspiring, captivating, cutting-edge, bold, experimental, soothing, heart-wrenching, masterful—just a few of the words I would use to describe Imogen’s sound. For me Imogen Heap is the Queen of the new Underground. For those of you who don’t know who I am talking about, please let me introduce you to musical innovator Imogen Heap. Even if you aren’t sure if you’ve ever heard her music before, the opening riffs of the memorable Let Go released by Imogen’s side-project Frou Frou, will definitely bring back memories of rushing to the dance floor to interpret this song with your own brand of voodoo. Calling her simply a multi-instrumentalist doesn’t do her and her music justice. She’s a magnificent one-woman show. An Imogen Heap live music performance is truly captivating. The layers of sound that swirl around her uniquely beautiful voice are spell-binding. Her command of the instruments that surround her during a live mix is rare in today’s music world. As each song ends, you wish you could hit replay in order to see and hear the magic all over again. And thank God for YouTube you can. Her songs are epic journeys of melodies that pull at every heart string, yet at the same time are so cutting edge you still get to be the cool kid on the block to say you are a fan. Imogen’s discography of solo material and collaborations to-date is impressive. Standout singles are: Just For Now, Let Go, Hide & Seek, Clear the Area, Goodnight & Go, First Train Home. If you don’t already have these tracks in heavy rotation on your iPhone, iPod or favourite mp3 player, treat yourself to these timeless melodies and Imogen’s beautiful voice. Available digitally from the iTunes store, download Imogen Heap’s music here.

Are you sure you’re setup as the registered owner of your domain names?

Domain Names, Tips, Website Hosting Posted by Clarke 102 Comments

Almost everyone knows by now how important it is to secure your brand name, and even your personal name, by registering it as a domain name on the Internet.

Registering your Domain Names should be an easy process. Don’t let anyone tell you that it is complicated. But it is very important to remember, that if you aren’t going to register your own domain names, be sure to tell the person or company registering it for you, to set YOU or YOUR COMPANY up as the Registrant (Owner) of the domain name and this registration should also be completed with your contact information, including phone number and an email address that you monitor. The Administrative Contact and Billing Contact should also be setup as you or your company. The tech person registering the domain name (other than if it is you personally) can register themselves as the Technical Contact, but only with your permission of course. Read more

Dreamworks’ How To Train Your Dragon is full of fire!

Movie Reviews Posted by Clarke 48 Comments

One of my picks for hottest animated movies so far in 2010, is the extremely smart, well-written, loveable How To Train Your Dragon (Dreamworks) adapted from the book by Cressida Cowell.

The movie is set in a world of dragons and Vikings. The story itself revolves around Hiccup, a teenager who lives on an island called Berk, where being a good normal Viking and fighting dragons is supposed to be your destiny. Read more
